Special Worship on October 24

On Sunday, October 24, we will have just ONE worship service, at 10:00 am. It will be bilingual, and held outdoors at the church. The worship will be preceded by an indoor baptism at 9:00 am, and followed by a lunch (food pre-planned; this is not a potluck). All are welcome!

Sunday School

Sunday School

We currently have our full line-up of Sunday School classes at the 10:30 am worship service! All of these classes have a wonderful group of teachers and assistants. When you come to worship, you can take your child back to the Children’s Center (our fellowship hall) – all of the classrooms are just off that large room.

Looking Forward, Looking Back

The following is a slightly edited letter sent out to our members and other friends who contributed financially to the mission of our church this past year.  But in addition to some financial news, it serves as a brief review of 2019 and a look forward into 2020. Enjoy!

“Greetings!  I hope 2020 has been good for you so far.  In any case, the Lord is good, and I pray you are continuing to put your trust in Him!  Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Go And Do

“Go and Do.”

In the last entry, back in October 2019, I wrote about an invitation and attitude of Jesus that was prevalent throughout his ministry; His was a “come and see” ministry.  He was invitational, and He calls us today to be invitational as well. Church is not an exclusive club, but an inclusive community. “Come and see!”

I also mentioned, at the end of the entry: “Stay tuned for the next entry, two weeks from now, on the second invitation of Jesus.”  Well, that was the longest two weeks of my life! It’s now January 2020, and as can happen, time got away. I wound up leading five memorial services soon after October ended, and helping minister to the families whose loved ones had passed away.

“Come and See”

We currently are in the middle of a Sunday series called “Coming and Going.” It is based on a
book by Robert Schnase called Five Practices of Fruitful Congregations, but more importantly,
based on two important invitations of Jesus.

The first invitation is when he told some people who were wondering where He was staying
(and, more than that I believe, were wondering about HIM), “Come and see.” One of those
men was Andrew, who became the first of Jesus’ disciples. Andrew must have been impacted
by those words, because in the gospel accounts we have of Andrew, he was often bringing
people to Jesus – in other words, to “come and see.”
